We are looking for experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated fine dining waitstaff to join our restaurant team.

Position Overview

As a member of our restaurant team, you will play an essential role in delivering a thoughtful, professional, and memorable dining experience.

At Holmen, hospitality goes beyond excellent service. We aim to create a genuine sense of place, connecting our guests to the landscape, local traditions, ingredients, and stories behind each dish.

Our restaurant offers carefully curated 5–7-course menus inspired by the seasons and ingredients of Northern Norway. We are looking for individuals who understand the rhythm and precision of fine dining service while maintaining a relaxed, warm, and welcoming atmosphere.

You should feel confident guiding guests through a tasting menu, presenting dishes with knowledge and enthusiasm, and providing attentive service that feels natural rather than formal or intrusive.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver consistently high standards of professional and personalised fine dining service.

• Welcome guests warmly and create a comfortable, engaging, and memorable dining atmosphere.

• Present and explain our seasonal tasting menus, communicating the ingredients, preparation methods, and stories behind each dish.

• Demonstrate a strong understanding of food and beverage service, including wine knowledge, pairings, and appropriate serving techniques.

• Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth communication, precise timing, and seamless coordination throughout service.

• Anticipate guests' needs, respond confidently to requests, and handle feedback professionally.

• Maintain exceptional standards of restaurant presentation, table settings, cleanliness, and organisation.

• Take responsibility for your section and contribute to the efficient running of daily restaurant operations.

• Support and collaborate with colleagues across the restaurant, kitchen, and wider Holmen team whenever needed.

Qualifications and Skills

• Previous professional experience in a fine dining restaurant or a similar high-end hospitality environment is required.

• Strong understanding of fine dining service standards, including multi-course tasting menu service.

• Good knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service, with an interest in developing further expertise.

• Confidence in presenting dishes and communicating culinary concepts and stories to guests.

• Excellent communication skills and a professional, friendly, and approachable manner.

• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.

• Ability to work independently, take initiative, and confidently manage responsibilities during service.

• A genuine passion for hospitality, teamwork, and creating meaningful guest experiences.

• Good command of spoken English.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
